This weekend I had the pleasure to attend the Pumpkin Patch Showdown basketball tournament held at the new sport facility Game On It in Fort Worth, TX. As I was there I notice a lot of hidden talent at this event. They had 3rd grade-Open HS division’s boys and girls. There was one organization that I wanted watch and get more info about them and their players.  So as look around I ran into the director of DFW Hawks Derelle King. He has a great thing going on the other side of Fort Worth, TX. He is based out of Brock, TX and has a great program and has student-athletes from all over the DFW metropolis

As I was watching his teams play I notice a few players that stood out. On the DFW Hawks I was very impress with some players on his 2024 team. The players that stood out on his 2024 team are; #33 Trinity Roden (Godley, TX) and #23 Jordyn Tinskey (Decatur, TX). Both players are quick and see the floor well. As they get older and understand the game and continue to work hard and stay focus they will be a force to deal with.

On the next game I watched was DFW Hawks 2023 team. In this game they played against a older team. And in all fairness I feel they held their own. It was some small things that the players could work to improve their level of play. And as I was watching them play two players stood out to me and they were #13 Hannah Gaylor and #15 Maddie Harrison. Both players are from Lipan, TX. They both played with so much control, they worked the ball around and always got their teammates involved in the game. In Lipan, TX they have a rich tradition in girls basketball, and I’m sure when it’s time for these two young ladies get into to high school as the kids say “ it’s gonna be own in popping”.

So in closing please keep a watchful eye out for the DFW Hawks Basketball  program and the players that plays for them.
